Join this "grand finale" session in the Water Power Intelligence Theater to hear what's happening in terms of development of new pumped storage, both in the United States and globally.
This robust moderator-led discussion among the panelists is intended to give attendees an update on various projects “in the development pipeline” (including Kidston, Soldier Camp, and Craig-Hayden).
You'll also get a flavor of the progress being made by the development community in convincing financiers and policymakers of pumped storage's value -- including the attributes that we all know to be true of the pumped-storage technology.
Topics to be discussed by the panel include:
• What are you learning from your interactions with energy and infrastructure decision makers – and what does our industry and the association (NHA) need to do to be able to demonstrate to financiers and policy makers the value pumped storage can provide?
• Grid-related challenges – especially in situations with lots of wind on the system
• Tools you are using to show the value pumped-storage hydropower – in order to justify power offtake agreements and capital investment
• Tools you are using to demonstrate how pumped storage can contribute to system inertia, grid strength, and grid stability
