Brian Minhinick

Brian Minhinick is Mott MacDonald’s Global Hydropower Practice Leader and a recognised leader in hydropower and pumped storage development. With more than 30 years of industry experience, he has worked on over 50 hydropower and pumped storage projects across Asia, Australia, Africa, Europe and the Americas.

Since joining Mott MacDonald in 2014, Brian has led the growth of the firm’s hydropower business and helped establish its position as a leading adviser in the rapidly expanding pumped storage sector. His expertise spans project development, energy modelling, dam engineering, underground works and project delivery.

Brian works closely with developers, utilities, investors and governments on some of the world’s most significant pumped storage opportunities. He is a strong advocate for collaboration and knowledge sharing and brings a practical, global perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing pumped storage as a critical enabler of the energy transition.
