The U.S. Department of Energy is hosting a 2-hour listening session to understand how hydropower + battery research could help industry overcome challenges. Skeptics, supporters, and the battery-curious are all encouraged to participate!
Part 1: Setting the Stage
Share your current level of understanding about hybridization, then learn a few key facts about the logistics, costs, and benefits to get everyone on the same page. Hear about DOE’s interest in hybridization.
Part 2: Identifying Barriers
Work in small groups with other industry professionals to highlight barriers that are stopping you and the U.S. hydropower fleet from realizing the increased revenue, reliability, and resilience offered by hybridization.
Part 3: Prioritization and Discussion
Back in the full group, vote on which barriers are the most important for DOE to address and share your thoughts about why top barriers matter and where they occur. (may include “speed round” of utility experiences with hybridization)
