Borut Hudobivnik

My name is Borut Hudobivnik and I am a university graduate in mechanical engineering. After initially working in the ski industry in 2002, I joined Litostroj in 2005. I started as a designer and continued as a chief designer.

Since 2019, I have been the head of the Design and Construction department within the R&D sector. I work most of my time on Kaplan turbines. I design turbines with diameters ranging from 3 to 6 m. Litostroj entered the ecological runner market in 2010 and since then I have been intensively involved in the design of ecological Kaplan runners.

I participate in projects from offers to final implementation. Litostroj has so far implemented more than 30 ecological runner projects for the Scandinavian market. In addition, as a chief designer, I designed Kaplan turbines in Slovenia, Sweden. Finland, Iran, Canada, Iceland, Croatia etc.

I have attended several conferences on ecological runners in Scandinavia, Germany and elsewhere. This is my first conference of this kind in North America.
