Keane Sommers

Keane Sommers is the director of power systems at Yuba Water Agency, where he oversees the operation, maintenance and engineering of the agency’s hydroelectric power generation mission, including operation and maintenance of the 350-megawatt New Colgate Powerhouse, Narrows 1 and 2 powerhouses, New Bullards Bar Dam and Reservoir, several diversion dams and other related facilities.

Prior to joining Yuba Water in 2024, Keane spent more than 15 years with Nevada Irrigation District, providing leadership for the district’s hydroelectric program in several roles, including director of power systems, hydroelectric department manager and dam safety engineer.

He is a licensed Civil Engineer holds a master’s degree in civil engineering from University of California, Davis and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno.
