CLEAN CURRENTS 2026

Customer Success Manager, HydroForecast at Upstream Tech

Hunter has 5+ years of experience working in water focused academia and industry where he has written peer-reviewed papers, consulted for water resources agencies, and scaled hydrology forecasting technologies internationally. He leverages his technical background in water resources engineering and hydrology to implement new forecasting technologies that improve hydropower operations, increase dam safety, and increase regulatory compliance. He is motivated to increase adoption of emerging water focused technologies to bolster hydropower generation while protecting environmental resources.

Before joining Upstream, Hunter worked as a consultant at EKI Environment & Water in California and a flood modeling startup, FloodMapp. As a consultant, he participated in business development, built models, and conducted research for groundwater and water resources agencies throughout California. At FloodMapp, he moved between several roles ranging from modeling to sales, eventually settling into a sales technical support role, where he helped expand the reach of novel flood models to emergency managers throughout the US and Australia. Hunter holds a MS in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Stanford and a BA in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from Macalester College.

Hunter currently lives in New York City with his wife and two cats. He loves to play sports, primarily surfing and baseball, but is also passionate about learning new languages, writing, and drawing.
