Geomorphologist at Northwest Hydraulic Consultants
Ed Fordham is a geomorphologist with Northwest Hydraulic Consultants (NHC), specializing in sediment transport, river processes, and applied sediment management.
He earned a B.S. with Honors and Distinction in Environmental Science from the University of New Mexico and an M.S. in Geology from Western Washington University, where he researched sediment dynamics on Glacier Peak volcano.
His work at NHC integrates geomorphology, environmental monitoring, and data science to develop practical solutions for hydropower, water diversion, sedimentation and erosion hazards, and channel capacity challenges. Ed is passionate about applying real-time data and innovative approaches to support resilient infrastructure, healthy ecosystems, and informed sediment management decisions.
Outside of work, he enjoys mountain biking, snow sports, and exploring the outdoors with his family.
