Steve Leach

Steve earned a Master’s Degree in Oceanography and Coastal Sciences from Louisiana State University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Elon University. His career has included positions with the University of Maryland’s Chesapeake Biological Laboratory, South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, Normandeau Associates, and FirstLight Power. His primary experiences include estuarine and diadromous fisheries research, endangered species research, and hydroelectric licensing and compliance. Steve has implemented fish passage programs for hydroelectric facilities for approximately 26 years. His responsibilities with FirstLight include implementation of fish passage operations and monitoring, water quality and quantity compliance, licensing support, and agency consultation.
