Dana McCoskey

Dana McCoskey is an Environmental Technologies Manager in the Water Power Technologies Office (WPTO), in the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE). She leads strategy, management, and execution of WPTO’s Environmental R&D Portfolio for the WPTO Hydropower Program and serves as the Deputy Chair and US Representative to International Energy Agency’s Hydropower Technology Collaboration Programme. Dana’s background includes over 20 years of experience in program development and project management, technology R&D and commercialization, and laboratory and field research for fish and wildlife management. She works across sectors with partners in national labs, industry, academia, small businesses, and tribes to support technology transfer. Research focus areas of interest include fish passage and aquatic connectivity; developing monitoring technologies for sensitive species including acoustic telemetry, sensor systems, and eDNA; and advancing sustainability science to improve environmental outcomes and siting of renewable energy systems. Dana has a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Master of Science in Environmental Science and Public Policy.
