General Manager, TVA River Management at Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA)
James Everett is based in Knoxville, Tennessee and is the General Manager for TVA’s River Management organization. James oversees diverse teams of specialists, program managers, engineers and technicians that support management of TVA’s integrated reservoir system. River Management is responsible for planning and operating the reservoir system to achieve benefits in six key areas; Flood Control, Navigation, Power, Water Supply, Water Quality and Recreation. TVA’s service region covers over 80,000 square miles with roughly 10 million end-use customers and the watershed TVA manages includes 41,000 square miles of area, 49 reservoirs, 29 conventional hydroelectric plants and 1 pump storage plant. James has a Bachelors and Masters degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering and is a registered professional engineer. James has over two decades of experience in the engineering, water resources and energy industry. James serves as Co-chair of NHA’s Water Management Asset Owners Roundtable and has lead numerous stakeholder initiatives including engagements with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the National Weather Service, Hydropower interest groups, research institutions, recreational and environmental interests amongst many others.
