CLEAN CURRENTS 2025

Dams Deputy Business Line Director at Black & Veatch

Emily is a dam safety engineer and program leader with Black & Veatch where she manages multi-disciplinary teams in delivery of water supply, power generation, and flood control projects across the U.S. She holds a BS and MS in civil engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and over her 14 years as a consultant has designed dams in Australia, inspected gates and bridges by rope, and managed geotechnical testing on the Panama Canal. Her unique blend of design, risk, and inspection experience provides insight for early identification of constructability, operational, and long-term maintenance risks in dams and their appurtenances. Her interdisciplinary work across the US and abroad has informed her collaborative approach to project management and industry leadership. She is a licensed engineer in the state of Texas, where she currently resides.
