Uncommon Dialogue – Two Year Anniversary: What We’ve Accomplished, What We’ve Learned, and What’s Next

Two years ago, the industry, the conservation community, and tribes came together in a process called the Uncommon Dialogue to work on advancing the renewable and energy storage benefits of hydropower while also enhancing the environmental and economic benefits of healthy rivers.

Join this session to hear a high-level level overview of the Uncommon Dialogue’s key accomplishments over the past two years and what’s planned for the future.

Then, you’ll hear quick reports from the lead(s) of each working group (list below), giving you a sense of the tremendous amount of work … and progress … underway on many fronts.

Uncommon Dialogue Working Groups

1. Accelerate Development of Hydropower Technologies and Practices to Improve Generation Efficiency, Environment Performance, and Solar and Wind Integration

3/5. Increase Basin-Scale Decision-Making and Access to River-Related Data/Advance Effective River Restoration through Improved Off-Site Mitigation Strategies

4. Improve the Measurement, Valuation of, and Compensation for Hydropower Flexibility and Reliability Services and Support for Enhanced Environmental Performance
