A New Paradigm in Hydrologic Hazards: Integrating U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Risk Management Center Tools to Support Semi-Quantitative Risk Analyses (SQRAs) from Project to Portfolio

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Risk Management Center (USACE-RMC) has developed a suite of software applications aimed at supporting hydrologic risk assessments, which are revolutionizing the process of SQRA development and risk assessment.

This presentation includes an introduction to the range of packages and how they work together for applied risk analyses, with a focus on hydrologic hazards.

Panel members will present existing case studies and emerging applications with a view of changing dam safety regulations.

Finally, discussions will be held around the opportunity and challenges of scaling these tools from a project to a portfolio.

Attendees should gain insight and perspectives into readily available and emerging tools or processes to support dam safety programs.
