Jillian Lawrence

Jillian has over 20 years of experience in the dam safety industry. She leads a team of professionals that manages a fleet of 45 hydropower projects located throughout the continental United States. In her current role, she has proven to be a result driven leader, quickly analyzing the fleet, identifying the needs, assigning priority to projects, and setting pace to programs to reach the goals and commitments to improve dam safety issues and implement enhancements. During her time in role, she has developed and established an owner's dam safety program and instituted a set of policies and procedures ranging from identifying communication escalation pathways, enhancing surveillance and monitoring techniques, to identifying key projects for improvement. She previously worked as a Principal Civil Engineer in the Bureau of Dam Safety for the state of New Jersey overseeing all aspects of dam safety management before bridging her experience and expertise over to the hydro industry. Jillian is a registered professional engineer and has been working as a dam safety engineer her whole career.
