Director, Generation and Optimization at Brookfield Renewable Energy Group (US)
Mr. Bruno Benedetti, P.Eng., M.Eng., is the Director of the Generation and Optimization team at Brookfield Renewable North America. He has over 20 years of experience in the renewable energy industry in both Canada and the USA. He holds a Bachelor in Engineering from McGill University and a Masters in Engineering from École de technologie supérieure. At Brookfield, he leads the Generation and Optimization team, responsible for: - evaluating the energy generation capabilities and risk for hydro, wind, solar and battery power assets, - optimizing storage and operations to maximize revenues from generation and ancillary services, - assessing the impact of climate change on the assets and - developing tools and methods to continuously improve our processes. Previous experience includes consulting engineering with AECOM and Adjunct Professor at McGill University, teaching Surveying for Mining Engineers. Very involved in the hydropower and energy community, Bruno is currently the Co-Chair of the National Hydropower Association’s Water Management Asset Owner Roundtable. Previous engagements include completed mandates as vice-chair of CEATI's Hydropower Operations and Planning Interest Group, an industry body regrouping over 30 power generating utilities and active member of the Future Energy Leader Advisory Board of the World Energy Council.
