Rich Castle

Rich has over 10 years of experience in the Hydro land/shoreline management industry and leads a team that manages the FERC licenses for the 13 Consumers Energy owned and operated river hydro facilities located in the Lower Peninsula of Michigan.  

In his current role, Rich is responsible for approximately 14,000 upland acres and approximately 17,000 inundated acres as well as the Company’s water quality, cultural resources, and compensation license requirements.  Additionally, he manages the Land Management Plan that includes the Wildlife & Forest Management Plan,  Buffer Zone Management Plan, Bald Eagle Management Plan, Recreation Development Plan and the Land Lease Management Plan. 

He also has significant utility related experience in GIS, Public Relations, and Wind Farm development, construction and operations. 

Rich graduated with a B.A. in Science and a Master of Science/Public Administration degree from Central Michigan University. 

In his free time, he enjoys living life with his wife, traveling around the world, and hunting and fishing in northern Michigan.
