Justine Penix

Justine Penix is a Senior Environmental & FERC Compliance Specialist at Indiana Michigan Power (an American Electric Power company), where she leads FERC compliance, environmental compliance, emergency action planning, and ongoing relicensing efforts for a renewable energy portfolio that includes six run-of-river hydroelectric facilities along the St. Joseph River in Michigan and Indiana and five solar facilities.

With a background in forestry, environmental consulting, vegetation management, and project management, Justine brings a multidisciplinary perspective to the challenges of managing renewable energy assets. She collaborates across multiple business units, regulatory agencies, and environmental consultants to support projects while navigating environmental and regulatory requirements.

An active participant in the National Hydropower Association, Justine contributes to the Water Management Asset Owner Group, Future Leaders of Waterpower, and the Under 20 MW Group, where she collaborates with peers from across the industry on challenges and opportunities facing hydropower.
