Miles Yaw

Miles Yaw is TVA’s Lead Hydrologist. He is responsible for technical oversight, management, and support of TVA’s non-nuclear hydrology and hydraulics programs, as well as the coordination of agency level hydrologic issues and impacts.

He has been working in TVA’s River Management organization since 2019. Prior to TVA, he worked as a consulting engineer specializing in river mechanics and sediment transport. Mr. Yaw was TVA’s 2025 Engineer of the Year, a federal top-10 finalist, and the United States Society of Dams (USSD) Exceptional Young Professional. He currently serves as the vice chairman of USSD’s Hydraulics and Hydrology Committee and chairman of the subcommittee on Hydrology.

He holds a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Washington State University.
