Mark Cook

Mark Cook, Power Manager for the Bureau of Reclamation’s Lower Colorado Basin, provides oversight for Reclamation owned dams and transmission lines in Nevada and Arizona.

He began his career at Hoover Dam in January 2007 as an Electronics Engineer, mastered the plant’s SCADA system, and led modernization of generator controls and integration with SCADA.

In 2010 he supervised the Engineering Group of civil, mechanical, and electrical engineers and technicians; in 2012 he became Chief of the Engineering Office, overseeing large capital projects and long-term planning. Early in 2015 he was promoted to Manager of Hoover Dam, managing Operations, Maintenance, and the Apprenticeship Group, and felt honored to care for an iconic facility. In July 2024 he accepted his current regional role.

His education includes an A.A.S. in Electronics from the College of Eastern Utah and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering with a Mathematics minor from Utah State University.
