Jim Pratt

Jim Pratt serves as the General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of Salt River Project (SRP), Arizona’s largest community-based, not-for-profit utility. In this role, he leads more than 6,000 employees in advancing SRP’s mission to deliver affordable, reliable, and sustainable water and power to more than one million customers across central Arizona. With more than 40 years of experience in the utility industry, Jim began his SRP career in 1984 as an engineer and went on to hold numerous leadership positions spanning nearly every area of the organization’s operations. In 2018, he was appointed Associate General Manager of Customer Operations & Chief Customer Executive, where he oversaw teams responsible for water services, customer programs, customer strategy, and distribution grid services. The SRP Board appointed Jim as the company’s General Manager and Chief Executive Officer effective May 5, 2023. Jim is known to be a forward-thinking leader who motivates teams, fosters innovation, and is deeply committed to serving customers. Under his guidance, SRP has remained #1 in the nation among large utilities in the JD Power Residential Electric Customer Satisfaction Survey. An active industry and community leader, Jim serves on the board of the Association of Edison Illuminating Companies, is a member of the Large Public Power Council board, and the Greater Phoenix Leadership Board. He also serves as a board member of the Phoenix Zoo and previously served as Executive Committee Chair for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central and Northern Arizona.
