Daniel Giesbrecht

Daniel Giesbrecht is a Senior Mechanical Engineer at KGS Group. He has over 15 years of experience providing mechanical design for gates, hoists, HVAC, plumbing, piping systems, fire protection sprinkler systems, and turbine systems for hydroelectric and industrial projects. He also has extensive experience supervising the installation and commissioning of turbine and generator equipment, gates and hoists, balance-of-plant equipment, and dam safety reviews. Daniel has overseen turbine and generator performance testing and deficiency management at newly constructed hydroelectric plants and has acted as the Owner’s Engineer during major unit overhauls.

He is also actively involved in turbine performance assessment and testing programs for hydroelectric facilities and has presented and delivered technical training on turbine efficiency measurement and performance analysis. His experience includes supporting major rehabilitation and redevelopment projects for utilities across Canada, from early-stage studies and technical specifications through commissioning and operational support.
