Sam Doyle

Sam Doyle is a mechanical engineer and the deputy team lead for Stantec’s Turbine group. Sam helps strengthen grid reliability and move renewable energy projects forward one megawatt at a time. He specializes in all aspects of turbines—understanding how they’re designed, how they function, and how to optimize them for project goals, whether that means maximizing megawatts, supporting grid stability, or meeting economic targets.

Sam’s experience spans all project stages, from initial cost estimates to preparing turbine procurement bidding specifications, reviewing designs of supplier drawings, and preparing drawings and general construction documents. He’s also created detailed risk registers, conducted high-level dam assessments, and managed scheduling of large long-term projects. In addition, he routinely performs detailed inspections of turbine equipment.
