Energy Systems Engineer at Argonne National Laboratory
Quentin Ploussard is an Energy Systems Engineer and Hydropower Team Lead at Argonne National Laboratory. His DOE-funded research focuses on identifying win-win operating strategies that balance hydropower economics and environmental objectives, as well as bridging modeling gaps in hydropower cascade scheduling. He has worked extensively with the Western Area Power Administration, developing hydropower scheduling tools and evaluating the economic impacts of environmental flow operations.
He is the developer of the CRiSPPy and Cascadia hydropower scheduling models and the project manager of the Hydropower Market Game, an educational tool designed to introduce students and stakeholders to the operational, economic, and environmental complexities of hydropower. His work has been featured in several media outlets, including Hydro Leader, Factor This, and Water Power magazine.
