Eric Prescott is a Senior Program Manager for the Electric Power Research Institute’s (EPRI’s) Thermal & Hydro Fleet R&D programs in the Generation Sector. Prior to joining EPRI, Prescott worked for GE Power as a System Integration Leader for North America in the Power Service’s Steam Turbine Engineering group where he managed a team of cross-disciplined engineers addressing outage support, operational issues, complex repairs, and upgrade designs. His utility industry experience includes applied work in; engineering, operations, product management, product quality, sourcing and project execution for fossil, nuclear and combined cycle generation. He has completed numerous planned, and unplanned, refurbishment, recovery and upgrade projects for a variety of OEM’s equipment, and is well versed in root cause failure analysis, advanced inspection methodologies, complex repair design, and maintenance optimization challenges. Mr. Prescott received a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the Old Dominion University, and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Richmond’s Robins School of Business. Eric has been with EPRI since 2019 and currently leads a component program area covering Steam Turbines, Generators, and Hydropower. The portfolios are aimed at improving reliability, availability, and affordability of power production from turbine and generator systems in conventional, combined-cycle, nuclear, and hydro applications.
