Mike leads the Global Hydropower practice within GHD, a leading international engineering and advisory service provider, with tertiary qualifications in engineering, business and law. He has 45 years’ experience in the energy sector almost all in hydro at all phases from origination to construction. For the past 7 years he has been establishing GHD as a leader in pumped hydro energy storage, who have carried out assignments on more than 40 projects, 2 of which are under construction. One is the unique Kidston PHES being constructed on a repurposed gold mine. He has comprehensive technical and commercial understanding of renewables projects including the revenue market, transaction due diligence, risk management and contract packaging. He has completed projects in Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, Fiji, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Kenya, Malaysia, Malawi, Myanmar, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Sudan, Tanzania, Thailand, Uganda, UK and UAE
