Rebecca Gilmer

Rebecca Brayboy Gilmer is a Manager of Generation Station Projects at Dominion Energy, where she is responsible for leading and guiding Project Managers with capital projects from inception to closure. She has twenty-four years of experience at Dominion Energy and in the energy industry. She started her professional career as a Chemical Engineer with Union Carbide Corporation where she had been a Summer Intern while in college. She had responsibility for maintaining day-to-day operations, environmental stewardship, quality control, process improvements, and continuous improvement projects. Rebecca started with Dominion Energy in 2001 as a Plant Engineer at Possum Point Power Station where she supported day-to-day operations, maintenance activities and continuous improvement projects. She relocated to Richmond, Virginia in 2007 where she experienced managing statistical performance data, addressing fleet-wide operational and maintenance processes/projects via the Company’s Six Sigma Black Belt Program, and developing long-term capital plans for multiple Power Stations while managing multiple capital projects at two different Power Stations. She later became the Technical Support Supervisor for Chesterfield Power Station with responsibility for managing technical support and daily operations, led team while enforcing company standards and policies, managing long term capital and O&M plans, reinforce safety and environmental protocols, implement and manage quality assurance, ensure efficiency, and facilitate communication between technical staff and other departments. Rebecca is an active member of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE), and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She has held and continue to hold multiple leadership roles in each organization. Rebecca lives in Chesterfield, Virginia, and is interested in R&B music. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and traveling when she has an opportunity.
