Christopher Jones

Chris Jones is a Mechanical Engineer with Chelan County Public Utility District in Washington State, where he supports maintenance and capital projects at Rocky Reach and Rock Island Dam. Since joining the utility in 2024, he has contributed to major hydroelectric projects including turbine overhauls, commissioning, and reliability improvements. His work focuses on mechanical design, plant operations, and long-term equipment performance. He graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Utah State University. Before joining Chelan PUD, Chris worked in quality, manufacturing, and design engineering, where he gained valuable experience in mechanical design, project execution, and cross-functional collaboration. These roles helped build the foundation for his current work in hydro engineering. Chris has a particular interest in failure investigations and fastened connections and is currently involved in developing strategies to monitor, maintain, and extend the service life of critical components. He actively pursues professional development through conferences, industry tours, and specialized training in hydro engineering.
