Mechanical Systems Subject Matter Expert, Hydroelectric Design Center at U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

Catherine graduated from Portland State University in 2002 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Physics, and in 2022 with a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Catherine has been a registered professional engineer in the state of Washington since 2012. She has been with the Corps since 2003, and with HDC since 2007, working on powerhouse crane rehabs and replacements, digital governor upgrades, cathodic protection, fire protection, oil accountability, lubrication oil system flushing and turbine lubrication oil replacement. She is also the designated technical point of contact for UFGS 48 06 15 TURBINE OIL, a co-instructor for a USACE Lubrication class, and a voting member of the ASTM D02.C0 Turbine Oil subcommittee. On a personal note, Catherine was born in Pittsburgh, lived in Connecticut, Ohio, Georgia, Maryland, West Virginia, Texas, Pennsylvania, Oregon, and now Washington. She loves travel, cooking, and cats, and is a devoted lifelong learner.
