Jared McCully
CLEAN CURRENTS 2025
Director, Clean Rivers Initiative at Worthington Products
Captain Jared McCully, a US Army Expeditionary Logistics Officer with five years of experience in Army Watercraft, now leads Worthington Products' Clean Rivers Initiative. At Worthington, he directs global collaborations focused on removing plastic pollution from inland waterways before it reaches the ocean. Jared also serves as the Project Manager for Worthington’s Guatemala River projects in partnership with The Ocean Cleanup, overseeing the installation of debris barriers to intercept plastic waste. During his active military service, Jared served with the Army's 7th Transportation Brigade (Expeditionary) out of Fort Eustis, Virginia, where he planned and executed Joint Logistics Over the Shore exercises in Australia, the Philippines, the Caribbean, and Antarctica. Captain McCully still serves in the Army Reserves out of Washington, D.C., integrating key components with the Corps of Engineers, Transportation Command, and joint forces. Jared holds an M.B.A. from the College of William and Mary and a B.A. in Political Science and War Studies from Gettysburg College. When not traveling the world cleaning rivers or installing debris barriers at major dams, you can find Jared cheering on the Cleveland Browns, training to become a master pizzaiolo, or getting lost at a museum or historic site.
