James Boag

James Boag is a Principal Mechanical Engineering with McMillen Inc. and works in the Portland, OR office. McMillen is a full service design and build firm focused in the water resources industry. James has worked for McMillen for five years.

James' entire 20-year career has been focused on the engineering, construction, and operation of hydropower and water control structures. His expertise is utilized in all phases of work-from inspections, evaluations, feasibility assessments, scoping, early planning, pre-design activities, final design, construction and installation, startup and commissioning, and maintenance and repair of existing facilities.

He has been responsible for hydropower designs, dams, navigation locks, pumping plants, fish hatcheries, fish passage facilities, and other water resources projects. He has been involved in designing multiple mechanical structures related to spillway gates, turbine/generator packages, multiple vendors, associated valves, conduits, upstream and downstream fish passage facilities, floating structures, oil/water separation on discharges, and large pump rehabilitations.
