Director, Energy Resources and Demand Department at Argonne National Laboratory
Patrick Balducci is the Director of the Energy Resources and Demand Department in the Energy Systems and Infrastructure Assessment Division at Argonne National Laboratory. At Argonne, he also serves as the Lab Relationship Manager for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Electricity Energy Storage Program and the DOE Hydropower and Hydrokinetic Program, which includes hydropower and marine energy technologies. Mr. Balducci has led research efforts evaluating the benefits of energy storage at 18 sites across the U.S. with combined power and energy capacities of 3.8 GW and 62.8 GWh, respectively, and has led several efforts to enhance economic assessment tools for DOE. He holds a BS in Economics from Lewis and Clark College, where he graduated with honors, and an MSc in Applied Environmental Economics from the University of London, Imperial College of London.
