Senior Environmental Resource Manager, Water Strategy, Hydro Licensing and Lake Services at Duke Energy Corporation

With degrees in the biological sciences from the Universities of Georgia, Southern Mississippi and Kentucky, Mike's professional experience centers on fisheries and wildlife issues as they relate to power generation facilities. At Duke Energy, he is responsible for leading programs and maintaining key external relationships to manage natural resources used or affected by Duke Energy reservoirs and hydropower plants including protocols and initiatives related to project relicensing, new license implementation, and license settlement agreement compliance. Previous and current project experience includes coordinating and leading compliance-related species inventories, water quality issues and diagnoses, habitat enhancement and restoration, nuisance species control, and fish passage and protection. Professional involvement and memberships include the National Hydropower Association, the American Fisheries Society and the Robust Redhorse and Sicklefin Redhorse Conservation Committees.
