Michelle Mattson

Michelle has over 25 years of professional experience in ecosystem restoration, site assessment, and regulatory compliance as a consultant and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ regulator. She is considered a compensatory mitigation subject matter expert (SME), supporting national and regional training courses and has spent her career in the field working with stream and wetland restoration teams to design, install and monitor restoration projects and programs as a consultant and USACE regulator. Michelle manages the Regulatory Team budget and leads support for compensatory mitigation training, and policy development. She serves on the program team for the Sustainable Rivers Program (SRP), a partnership with The Nature Conservancy (TNC), focused on finding opportunities to modernize operations of USACE infrastructure to improve environmental benefits while maintaining authorized purposes.
