Jonathan Quebbeman

Jonathan Quebbeman is a senior water resources engineer at RTI International with more than 21-years of applied experience, and leads the South Asia Water Resources team. Jonathan focuses on water resources planning, forecasting systems, statistical hydrology, hydro-economic evaluations, and capacity building programs. Key activities include portfolio-level hydrologic hazards assessments, automating techniques for hydrologic and hydraulic model development, and statistical methods including Bayesian frequency analysis, non-stationary timeseries analysis, and synthetic weather and streamflow generation. He also employs a range of single- and multi-objective optimization methods to support model calibration, reservoir operations, and decision-space tradeoff exploration. Dr. Quebbeman brings together traditional hydrologic and hydraulic modeling with new statistical and simulations methods to help address challenging questions around climate change, data-driven decision-making, and risk analyses.
