All hydropower currently in operation is connected to a river, lake, or reservoir, and changes in downstream flow releases characteristic of operational flexibility can alter environmental effects and the types of protection, mitigation, and enhancement measures needed.
This panel will discuss some of the current and forthcoming innovative approaches to creating flows that are good for energy and the environment and the partnerships and negotiations leading up to implementation of these flows.
