How to Ensure Digital-Related Initiatives Provide the Value You Expect
The concept of digitalization is not new to most hydro organizations. Over the past decade, many hydro organizations have invested in digital transformation — through, for example, predictive analytics using sensor data, energy demand forecasting to enhance decision making, or automation to optimize power grid.

Today, organizations have advanced tools and an abundance of data. Yet, far too often, their digital initiatives fail to drive value as expected.

Developing a Framework

Developing a framework is a critical first step toward a successful investment in digital transformation. The Digital Transformation framework consists of three pillars:
1) Mission and Priorities — what is important to your organization?
2) Value — how you can measure value and know you are getting a return on investment?
3) Roles and Responsbiliities — digital transformation crosscuts organizations, so defining clear roles and responsibilities is essential
